Psychiatric Ward

The facilities of this psychiatric ward, designed by Ricardo de la Torre, were inaugurated in November 2022 and house 12 single rooms. The infrastructure also includes a group therapy room, a dining room and another common area where patients can share their time and receive visitors, among other facilities.

In addition to getting to know the new and welcoming rooms of the unit, the hospital's Mental Health Service carries out complex work to treat its patients. Beyond a mere hospitalisation in which the patient is admitted to the unit and receives pharmacological treatment, the Hospital Universitario de Torrejón is committed to a comprehensive approach with psychotherapeutic interventions and occupational interventions, both at an individual level and with group dynamics. This is a more humane, dynamic and closer model of treating these acute mental illnesses.
