La Cebicheria

In the heart of Chamberí, "La Cebichería de Trafalgar" stands as a refined nod to the sea, conceived by the prestigious interior designer Ricardo de la Torre. The space, spread over two floors, conveys a serene clarity thanks to a palette of materials and colours that effortlessly evoke a classic fishmonger's shop. White tiles, navy blue floors and hints of yellow on the seating make for a bright and balanced environment. The impressive marble bar, designed for six diners, becomes the real protagonist, creating a stage where the culinary process acquires visibility and theatricality.

De la Torre's intervention is developed with subtle but forceful brushstrokes: the bathrooms, designed as cold rooms, reinforce this sensory journey to the coast, while the iconic fish that emerges on the wall is a playful and evocative symbol of the marine universe. The aesthetic proposal is completed with strategically placed soft lighting that enhances the serenity of the space, creating an intimate atmosphere conducive to savouring the nuances of cebiche.

The attention to detail does not stop at the interior architecture, but extends to the tableware, created by Andrea Zarraluqui, a key part of the diner's visual experience. These dishes, with their refined shapes and neutral colours, contrast and highlight the Peruvian ingredients, combining tradition with contemporary precision. There is a balance between the artisanal and the contemporary, an aesthetic reflection of Nikkei cuisine and Peruvian roots through design.

This inspiring space transcends the mere gastronomic exercise. De la Torre seeks juxtapositions of noble materials such as marble and tile with brute and symbolic elements, accentuating the experience with notes of colour that break the neutrality without being out of place. The result is an environment with a clean marine flavour, with soft lines and graphic winks, which turns each visit into an immersive experience where design and tradition converge with sophistication.
